My typical evening can be defined by this. To answer the usual question: YES, this is real. No, it’s not staged. He has had many problems since he was a young boy with suddenly falling asleep. He does not just pass out right then and there, but he gets an uncontrollable pull into sleep no matter what time of the day it is, or what he ate/drank, and no matter how many hours of sleep he had the night before. It just happens, and quite fast. It has happened to him while he was standing up several times. However, if he feels the pull into sleep while driving, he pulls over.
