Currently I am taking Provigil to treat my hypersomnia. I had just found out about RLS a few months ago and I feel like i know for sure i have RLS. I have the urge to move basically ALL my body parts (legs, fingers, neck, thighs, toes etc.) because of a tingling that goes away with movement. Sometimes when I wake up, I wake up with my whole body jerking up. I’m just wondering how RLS causes hypersomnia? Is it because the muscles are moving constantly and prevents me from sleeping calmly?
It sucks because Provigil gives me the energy i need to stay awake during the day, but i still feel exhausted in the morning. I feel like sleeping gives me no energy, but is expended with provigil
Er, sorry I forgot to add that I’ve had the RLS symptoms since i was very small, probably around 6 yrs. old. My parents just told me it was growing painsm so i believed them. In othe words, I had the RLS symptoms long BEFORE i started taking Provigil

My boyfriend has had this condition for a while. Even was in action the first time I met him, but anyway, he’s 6’5 and 228lbs worth of muscle EVERYWHERE, we are having a great sex life as a couple. At first this didn’t get in the way, now he will literally be a second from orgasm and will become dead sleep weight on TOP during or before the orgasm. Mind you he’s penetrated and all or even during oral fast asleep with everything as he left it, myself being 5’8 150lbs I can’t really take it anymore; I’ve seen charts of him being sterile, but still, I don’t want to take chances of getting pregnant through this; I’ve only been able to get away about 40% of the time because of position or how much muscles I have that night. What should I do when his Narcolepsy kicks in?
On top is in with the 40%. There’s a whole bunch of rolling a such…but I’m thinking….
A couple of months ago, I was diagnosed with having Hypersomnia and am currently taking 350mg of Provigil, which has worked exceptionally well to keep me awake during class, work, etc. . After further reading of hypersomnia, I had realized Restless Leg Syndrome was the cause. Ever since I was about six, I’ve had the symptoms of RLS: tingling feeling, urge to move, only goes away when moving or concentrating on something else like video games. The thing is, it occurs to almost ALL of my muscles not just legs or arms, but my neck, fingers, shoulder, calves, etc. I wake up in the morning just the same way I went to sleep. I feel like I get no energy at all from sleep. What am I supposed to do?? I also haven’t had the time to check in with my neurologist lately, but plan to do so soon for asking about RLS. What can I do sleep-wise to help me? Also dietary?
