No, it can be cause by several physical factors, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, etc.
If you have or suspect that you have sleep apnea, see your doctor right away for a sleep study. Apnea can be deadly. My cousin had it and was using a breathing machine and still died in his sleep, while it was running. Do whatever you need to do to get help. If you are overweight, start trimming off the pounds. I wish you well.
Well not stress directly however when you become stressed your sleeping patterns may change. That can contribute to sleep apnea. Causes of apnea are really unclear to determine what causes it. Obesity, drugs, smoking, hypothyroidism etc. are some factors.
Hi!
Stress can lead to insomnia, less likely to sleep apnea. If your stress can make you to take drugs such as narcotics, benzodiazepines and alcohol, and if you are overweight, you can develop sleep apnea.
So, there are causes which together with stress may cause sleep apnea. But stress can’t cause sleep apnea alone.
