I can not sleep at night because my legs start twitching and hurting and I have to get up and walk on them to get any relief.

Have you tried a different kind of mattress?
They use muscle relaxers, but you don’t want to stay on them too long. I have also heard of some trying anti-convulsives (I don’t think that’s what they’re called), but I don’t know if that works.
Mild exercise eases the pain some, as does heat, water and pain meds.
See a doc about it. If your doc isn’t helping, find another one.
I’ve seen commercials on tv for a prescription drug called REQUIP. Call your doctor and see if this might be good for you.
Hello,
Excercise will help. If you would like to try medication, Mirapex is commonly prescribed. It is the same class of medication as Requip. Do talk with your doctor about it and understand the side effects. Also, you can visit the Restless Leg Syndrome Foundation website at
Hope that helps.
Both my husband and my mother-in-law have Restless Leg Syndrome. They used Requip and it worked wonderful for them. You may want to see a doctor and ask him what are your treatment options.
