I’m almost 20 and for as long as I can remember I get pains in my legs mainly at night but also during the day. I do have restless legs occasionally when this happens. It also seems to happen if the weather is about to get really bad (about a day or two before). I went to a specialist earlier this year and he was not helpful AT ALL he basically just told me it was restless leg syndrome and I should just deal with it. The problem is that I keep having it 4-5 days a week now and it’s really effecting my sleep. Anyone with similar problems? Advice?
I know I definitely have restless leg syndrome, but is the pain apart of that. I get RLS sometimes without the pain or sometimes I get the pain without the RLS. Has anyone else heard of something similar?

Essentially, restless leg syndrome was a disease created to sell the drugs for treatment. Yes, there are restless leg symptoms, but i wouldn’t say you have “RLS”. The best treatment for those symptoms is to drink quinine water, and it does help. I would try that to see if it helps your situation. If not, you should seek medical attention.
i have restless leg and it feels like your LEGS ONLY want to run or move. its bothersome i know what you mean. do you have signs of arthritis. i know the weather can make that worse. i would see another dr and they have a rx to help i am on requip. it works well. good luck. in the mean time do some stretches and also lay flat on your back, pull your toes towards your body you will fill the pull in your leg to relax your muscles. or a hot bath or shower also will help. good luck
Your symptoms do sound a lot like RLS. But, only a doctor can diagnose and treat you. If your doctor isn’t interested you need a referral to someone else, maybe a specialist.
I have very bad RLS and have been on Requip for several years. It does work and I don’t know what I would do without it. Ask your doctor for a referral to a Neurologist for a second opinion. By law you are entitled to a second opinion. Good luck.
Many people with leg cramps take quinine to help it. It is in “Tonic Water” in the soda aisle at the grocery store.
THe restless leg is more of a mystery. Some people put a bar of soap under the sheets and swear it works. No one can prove it.
