HAHAHAHAHAHHAA THAT SUCKSSS!!!!
It depends how bad it is for you.
I looked it up on Wikipedia and found walking and stretching regularly usually helps many people.
If it’s bad, go see a doctor to make sure you don’t have something else going on.
I stretch and exercise which helps a little, also try elevating your leg when lying down
Some one thinks it’s funny. I have the same thing. It has no relationship to anything, a doctor will tell you it’s arthritis, rheumatism, osteomyolitis, everything and anything in between but, Requip for some unknown reason will help almost instantly. It’s the only thing I know that stops it. I’ve suffered with it for years.
mightymouse, what have you decided to do? I’d suggest a few things. First, see if there is an RLS support group around you. They will have lots of ways to help. Second, join an online RLS message board/forum. The RLS Foundation has one, so does We Move. Also, join the RLS Foundation – you get a quarterly newsletter with lots of great info.
I’d highly suggest getting one of the following books: Resltess Legs Syndrome by Buchfurer, Hening and Kushida, or Restless Legs Syndrome by Robert Yoakum. Hening, Buchfurer and Lee also wrote one for Primary Care doctors that has great info in it, but it’s more medical in tone.
It’s too complicated to say that one treatment is for everyone. There are several things that need to be done, such as checking your serum ferritin, checking for anemia, verifying it’s RLS and not small fiber neuropathy, etc. When it comes to treatment, even that varies tremendously. I wish there was an easy answer, but alas there is not.
