13 Year old With RLS – Restless Leg Syndrome?
Hi, I’m 13 years old.
turning 14 in a couple of months.
And I have RLS, I had RLS for basically all of my life, you don’t know what RLS is, it’s restless leg syndrome.
I always, kick when I sleep.
I take extra strength pills that my doctor subsribed, and it doesn’t work.
Sometimes I wake up with bruises.
And in the worst cases , *I can’t go to school, because of my sore legs. (* is that a bad thing? haha joking.)
But it’s really starting to bug me.
I **** it.
Anything that I should do?
Like to get more restfull sleep?
I do have cold hands, alot.
My hair lacks in shine, seriously.
And for the person who says they don’t think I have RLS, I do, My doctor told me so. Why else would I be taking medication?
I take centrum pills, are those good?

could u tape your legs on your bed? im not being mean or anything okay. I think you should have homeschooling, and is there anything that lets your legs be attached to your bed?
Sorry gonna have to live with it… I dont know.
Iron deficiency test: Go to the mirror and pull your lower eyelid and see if the color is red or flesh color. If its flesh colored you are lacking enough iron and should take a herbal iron like Floradix. It will take a month to see a difference. Iron carrys oxygen in your blood and if you dont have it you will feel tired, cold hands and feet, headaches, RLS, dull brittle hair, brittle nails, poor sleep, pale skin (see thru), shortness of breath, fatigue, poor concentration, low mood, ringing in the ears, cracks in the corner of the mouth, dizziness, fainting, sore tongue and canker sores oh and pale mucous membranes in lower eyelid.
I had this when I was pregnant, and it was so annoying! Not painful really, just annoying! My legs always felt like they were about to fall asleep or I just had the need to move them. It’s like when you are sitting in an airplane for a long time and you just really need to stretch your legs…that’s what it was like for me.
I didn’t take anything for them, and after I had the baby, I went back to normal, athough sometimes I get it, but rarely, and not nearly as intense.
I heard that one cause of RLS is low iron. I still have low iron, but I take iron pills. Try taking vitamins with iron and see if that helps.
Another alternative might be to try hypnosis. I’m not joking, it might help your body relax.
Good luck, I feel your pain!
same here i have RLS to. im 13
G’day Sarah. Avoid acid foods like the plague! Especially tomatoes. RLS is caused by too much acid in the blood and medications that are effective neutralize the acid. Calcium foods are recommended. Fitness helps and walk or step up before you go to bed to help circulation. I have had RLS for 40 yrs and yes, you do get sick of it after a while! (and yes, I am an old ****!) Mine started when I was your age and I was 30 before I found out what was causing it. Do a search on the web, there are lots of articles on it. Also, look up GOUT, which is similar. Lots of luck.
