Is there anything I can take for Narcolepsy while breastfeeding?

Get to the doctor. YOu owe it to your son.
Go back to the physician and find out which drugs are not contraindicated for breast feeding. Most narcolepsy drugs are stimulants, and can be transferred in the breast milk. Please go in and get checked out.
You may have a thyroid disorder which was made worse by pregnancy that is adding to your fatigue, and that can be fixed with medications you can take during breastfeeding.

You must speak to your OB about this STAT. Don’t ask for suggestions here. This is a question for your doctor.
I agree with the R.N. since any medicine you take will be transferred to your baby through breast milk. Good luck. Can someone give you some down time so you can get some rest? Grandparents or friends you trust???
Narcolepsy is a chronic neurological disorder. You feel tire, don’t sleep well.
Two of the medicines are:
Nitalin, and modafinil.
But mostly the most important thing is rest!!!
We have an in-law who took monavie juice with good results for her narcolepsy. It is an all natural juice product that nursing mothers can take. Be sure to get the one without the glucosamine and celadrin; there are some safety concerns with those items.

I can’t answer your question for you, but I can sympathise with your situation. I was diagnosed with narcolepsy at sixteen. I quit taking my medication when I became pregnant with my son because I was afraid of the effects of ritalin on my baby. My doctor (neurologist, not OBGYN) said that it would probably be fine, but my gut told me otherwise. I was unwilling to risk the unknown. It was really difficult to take care of a newborn without the medication, but it does get better after a while. My suggestion to you would be to hang in there a little longer if you can. If you feel like you must get on some medication for the sake of the safety of your child, you might want to stop breastfeeding. See, there are pros and cons to everything. My choices might not work for you. You’ve already passed the six month mark that is considered to be the very most beneficial for your baby. Does the benefit of increased wakefulness outweigh the benefit of breasfeeding?
