Actually, no. They are nocturnal hunters by nature, having developed this trait over centuries of evolution. The modern house cat of today is no exception to the rule in the cat family.

I don’t know about narcolepsy, but I love it when my cat runs ahead of me to the nearest rug, and then flops down onto his back like he has no bones. I know it means something, but I don’t know what. Although he doesn’t sleep, it looks like an attack of narcolepsy.

I’ve never heard of a cat with narcolepsy. Cats sleep a lot. It’s not uncommon for them to take a 6 hour nap – and still sleep that night.

cats hearts beat at a different rate than a human heart. which makes their sleep rates and cycles different than humans. different sized people have different sleep rates and cycles as well.
