Could my boyfriend have narcolepsy?

He has fallen asleep at the wheel a few times. When hes tired, he can be really talkative and then all of a sudden while we are talking on the phone, it will be silent. I have to call his name several times and he wakes up and drifts back off. He gets about 6 hours of sleep a night and he’s usually not tired during the day. Whats his problem?
