he seemed flat because he was supposed to be flat to create a contrast between them. didn’t you notice how when the orchestra picked up they were flat, and seemed more dull while folds was sharp which made his part seem lighter and happier? its like that to create a sort of contrast which is reaallly hard to make sound good, but they did it really well.

from a person with N: epic depiction – musical hallucination – I’m floored at how incredibly well Narcolepsy comes through in this piece. MY lord, Ben Folds, you MUST it have to render it so perfectly The xylophones were a nice and unexpected touch. The sole piano – the way you play – THANKS

One of my all time favorite Ben Folds masterpieces as is…and they added brass, among other things, I can die happy now.
