The best way to deal with jet lag is before and during the flight. Try to adjust your schedule as much as possible to your arrival time zone. Avoid caffeine and alcohol during the flight. When you land, get some exercise. Nothing extreme. Just whatever you can handle easily.
The best thing to do is prevent it from happening. One of the best ways to do this is to not drink much, if any, caffeine during the flight….and to drink lots and lots of water! Keeping yourself hydrated helps prevent jet lag. Also, adjust yourself to the new time zone as quickly as possibly. If you have to, take a nap…but keep it short, and then force yourself to get up and then go back to bed at a normal hour in the new time zone. Flying west is always easier on the body than flying east.
