more importantly, how do i get over it? i didn’t experience much jet lag going from california to england- we arrived at 8 am europe time. we took a few naps, went out, and got a full nights rest at 9 or 10. i’ve been home from italy to california for like 5 days, but i keep going to sleep at like 6 pm to 9 or 10 pm and waking up at 4 am to 6 am. how do i get over this?

Just have to force yourself to stay awake until a normal bedtime for a few days. Eat well but try to eat later than normal so your body adjusts.
you have to eat garlic daily for three weeks, raw garlic only, three times a aday. no brushing your teeth. after a day or two someone is going to smack you in the but for the awfull smell you have and booom there goes the jet lag !!
Try to spend as much time in natural sunlight (but wear sunscreen) as you can. This helps to reset your photoperiod, or internal clock, to your current surroundings. This helped me when I flew to and from France. But, going to bed at 9 or 10 a nd getting up at 4-6am isn’t that bad. That’s what a lot of people who work regular jobs do.
