Sleep Apnea Information – What Causes Snoring
Take the Sleep Apnea Test Today at www.mysleeptest.com. About one half of American adults snore. And over 35 million of them do soon a regular basis meaning tens of millions of people are suffering every night with the noise and subsequent negative effects of receiving disruptive, poor quality sleep. Its likely you know someone — a roommate, a friend, family member, yourself or spouse that should realize that snoring is more than just a social issue. That it could be a sign of a serious medical condition called sleep apnea. http
Restless leg syndrome
Stand-up about the drug Requip. This is my disclaimer since I have seen other RLS videos on here attacked by people with RLS. If you use Requip and it has made your life better that is a wonderful thing. My whole point is that the cases of RLS sky rocketed after the drug was heavily marketed. Also the main commercial shows a woman lying back in a chaise lounge and lists these insane side effects like gambling tendencies, and sexual urges, seizure. I think it is poor example of RLS in that it makes it appear that RLS a simple nuisance, and a mild condition. Hardly worth the potential for such severe side effects. So if you have RLS I do not mean to offend. But I do think that the company that makes Requip is not doing RLS a favor with such misleading advertising. Personally I would try every alternative before taking a drug that would make me want to gamble, but that is just me.

i'm trying to figure out if i have restless leg syndrome or periodic limb movement disorder?
I have always thought I had RLS. I’ve had symptoms since I was 14. I have been taking Provigil for 6 to 9 months which is used to treat Narcolepsy, among other things. I’m now wondering if I might indeed have Periodic Limb Movement Disorder as I also have issues with my arms and hands and what I thought was RLS has gotten much worse.

Home Mechanical Ventilation CH 07-Ashley’s Story
Sheila Kun Nurse Case Manager Pediatric Pulminology skun@chla.usc.edu CCHS Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS) or primary alveolar hypoventilation, is a respiratory disorder that is fatal if untreated. Persons afflicted with Ondine’s curse classically suffer from respiratory arrest during sleep. Persons who have CCHS get it at birth, or develop it due to severe neurological trauma/damage to the brainstem. The diagnosis may be delayed because of variations in the severity of the manifestations or lack of awareness in the medical community, particularly in milder cases. (Chin, 2006).[1] This very rare and serious form of central sleep apnea involves an inborn failure of autonomic control of breathing. About 1 in 200000 live born children have the condition. In 2006, there were only about 200 known cases worldwide. In all cases, episodes of apnea occur in sleep, but in a few patients, at the most severe end of the spectrum, apnea also occurs while awake. A persons gender or race is not a determining factor when dealing with susceptibility to CCHS. Males and females are both affected equally and a person’s ethnicity, as of this point, has been not been coincided a variable to the disease.
