Can restless leg syndrome start suddenly?
My dad has restless leg syndrome and takes medication for it. Earlier this year, I got a back injury (herniated disc) and pretty much ever since, my legs will shake and shake and shake until I fall asleep. I can’t get them to stop at all unless I walk around and it’s been really hard to sleep. Is this restless leg syndrome and can it just start suddenly without previously having it? I haven’t mentioned it to my doctor because I don’t want him to think I’m crazy. Thank you.
Thank you. I’ll talk to my doctor.
Douglas, I do exercise even though I’ve had a herniated disc since January. It’s not bad enough that I can’t get around or anything. I’m fine. I do swim, five times a week and I played soccer and volleyball in high school (which was only last year). I can’t play soccer anymore because running really bothers my back but I always get my exercise in and I don’t eat a bunch of sugar. Mostly natural… from apples, grapes, and that sort of thing. I also don’t eat fried food if that helps and I also don’t drink pop. Mostly skim milk but not a lot of water. So I see where you’re coming from, but people (even young ones) can get back problems and possible RLS and still exercise and eat decently on a regular basis. Think about it. :] Feel free to add to your comment if you want.
