I’ve done it before with a combination of playing around with Melatonin (sleep aid) before and during the plane trip. When I arrived in America, I was virtually jet-lag free, though I forget exactly what I did. I’m making another trip to America and it’s very important that I’m as jet-lag free as possible, and I would love any advice. Perhaps there are even things I can do to my diet habits approaching the trip? Anything, please!

Occurs only in the evening and when legs are in a prone position or at bedtime. Very frustrating trying to fall asleep. Sensation of tingling or mild contractions or jerking motions in both legs.

I am making a trip from Greece to the US for about three weeks. I am dreading the time difference. The US is seven hours behind us. Does anyone have any experience or information and tips they can share with me regarding the effects of jetlag and flying with the baby.

I am curious to know if it’s possible to develop a sleeping disorder such as insomnia by staying awake and/or changing of sleeping habits and schedules to very few hours if any.

I haven’t been able to get adequate sleep for two weeks now and I’m 9 weeks pregnant. Is there any positive relationship between insomnia and early pregnancy? I have no nausea or vomiting, no urinary frequency so far. I am very tired during days but wide awake during nights. All non-medication methods of dealing with the sleep problem that I tried have been unsuccessful so far.

People who have obstructive sleep apnea suffer from either a total or partial blockage of their airway during sleep and this often results in snoring and a poor quality sleep leading to tiredness during the day. In continuing efforts to find an answer to this problem 51 obstructive sleep apnea sufferers with some degree of nasal blockage underwent surgery to clear their nasal blockage and the effects of this on their sleep apnea were then examined. An improvement in snoring and daytime tiredness was seen in all cases, along with a degree of improvement in their overall health. This is not a cure for sleep apnea of course, but it may be yet another tool in the surgeon’s treatment toolbox.
